Paco and Victoria

Paco e Victoria vivem há mais de cinquenta anos no mesmo apartamento no barrio de Poble Sec, em Barcelona. O filho, falecido há alguns anos, representa uma ausência dolorida para este casal, ao mesmo tempo que uma presença que subsiste em fotos, livros e objetos espalhados pelo apartamento. E também na fala, sorrisos e lágrimas deste simpático casal, que compartilhou conosco lembranças sobre o bairro e a vida.

Como em vários edificios antigos desta cidade, o deles carece de elevador, e o subir e descer as escadas de quatro andares vem se tornado com o passar do anos uma aventura cada vez mais esporádica, diante das limitações trazidas com o avançar da idade. Vão se tornando invisíveis, mas nunca um ao outro.

Para nós, foi um verdadeiro privilégio retratar Paco e Vicotoria, e testemunhar o  amor e companherismo que perdura ao tempo e aos desafios inerentes ao mesmo.

(EN) Paco and Victoria have been living for over fifty years in the same apartment in the neighborhood of Poble Sec in Barcelona. Their son, who passed away some year ago, represents a painful absence for them and at the same time a presence which subsists in photos, books and objects scattered around the apartment, as well as in the conversations, smiles and tears of this nice couple, who shared with us memories about the neighborhood and life.

As in many of the old buildings of this city, theirs does not have an elevator, and going up and down the four floors stairs has become, over the years, an increasingly sporadic adventure, in the face of the limitations brought on by the advancing age. They are becoming invisible, but never to each other.

For us, it was a real privilege to portray Paco and Victoria, and witness the love and companionship that endure through time and the challenges inherent in it.
